Questions
-
- 1. I have
four files on my disk, is this correct
?
-
- Yes, the
first is a Read me First file, the second is
a zip file that contains the file sent to the
remote machine, the third is a disclaimer
file and the fourth is the file you will use
to do your monitoring from.
-
- 2. I unzip
the "sendtouser" file and a gear icon with
the name server pops up on my desktop
?
-
- This is the
file that will be attached to outgoing email
to all the machines you wish to
monitor.
-
- 3. I unzip
the "Client" file and a dish icon with the
name Client pops up on my desktop
?
-
- This is
normal. This is the file that when double
clicked on opens the viewer called " Blade
Runner 2.0" you will use to control
interaction with the remote
machine.
-
- 4. What am I
sending to the computer I wish to Monitor ?
-
- Your are
sending one of two parts of the I-spymail
program. The server file is the file that
does the recording of information and sets up
the remote machine to accept your client or
browser interface to monitor the activity the
server file has recorded.
-
- 5. What file
do I send to the remote machine to be
monitored ?
-
- When
attaching anything to your emails, you have
to browse, simply goto where the icon
"server" is ( default is your desktop) and
double click on it, there it is
attached.Rename the server file to something
pleasant, attach it to an email and send it
away, it is that easy. Rename the server file
to something pleasant, attach it to an email
and send it away, it is that easy.
-
- 6. How do I
obtain the IP address of the machine I wish
to Monitor ?
-
- The best and
fastest way is to request a return receipt on
the email sent to the host machine. When you
send the "server" file in an attachment to
the remote location, you will request via
your email program that a return receipt
email come back to you verifying the person
has opened the email. This does two things,
one, it verifies that your email with
attachment was opened and two, you can then
obtain the IP address by going into edit,
then details. here a window will pop up that
will route the location of the email and
ultimately lead you back to the source
computers IP address.
-
- 7. How do I
connect to the Remote Machine ?
-
- Double Click
on the Client Icon on your desktop. A browser
window named " Blade Runner" will appear that
will have an area in the upper right hand
corner for you to type the IP address from
the machine you wish to monitor. Type in the
IP Address now and click Connect. You will
see a series of activities happening, then it
will say "connected".
-
- 8. I have
the icons on my desk top but the remote
machine picks up the attachment as a virus
?
-
- In the Read
Me First file it indicates that you must
disable your virus protection software DURING
the installation and the sending of the
"Server.exe" file. This is because all email
that has or contains self executable files
gets tagged with a file protection notice.
The remote machine that accepts this email
reads this tag and pops a warning to the end
viewer. This is easily gotten around by
reading and disabling the virus protection
software.
-
- 9. I cannot
connect to the remote machine ?
-
- Many people
call and say " I got the IP Address and
everything is working well, however I go to
connect at 2a.m. and nothing happens, or it
says, cannot connect" Well, the simple answer
is this. If the machine is NOT turned on,
there is no way to connect. Plus if the
machine is using a dial up modem, there is no
way to connect unless the machine is
connected to the internet. Static connected
machines, including DSL and Cable modems can
be connected to 24/7 if the machine is
powered ON.
-
- 10. I
connect, but I cannot view the Hard Drives
?
-
- Sometimes
people have the write permissions locked for
there drives. This is very few in between and
only one call has been received for this
problem. The reason we have it here is in
case others have problems. With this problem,
you cannot do anything about it. Sorry
!
-
- 11. I cannot
uninstall the I-Spy software, it says
"Locked" ?
-
- If you have
disabled the virus protection software and
you are having problems uninstalling the
I-Spy software, first we recommend going to
your start menu, ad and remove programs.
Sometimes this will not work because it does
not show up as a program. In this case, it is
best to runn your virus protection software,
since the I-Spy software has been tagged, let
it become quaranteened and then delete it
from your system at that time. Sometimes you
are able to right click and view permissions,
change if possible the permissions to allow
for deletion. Then drag and drop into the
recycle bin.
