-
- 1. Open the
unit with special GI-STAR tool or use 3.5"
flush cutters across opposite notches and
rotate Hinge the top cover to the front,
upside down, and out of the way.
-
- 2. Locate
EPROM (U4) in the unit. If it is in a socket,
remove it and place it in the open socket on
the Key Circuit Module, being sure to observe
the direction of the notch on the EPROM chip.
If the EPROM (U4) is soldered directly onto
the board, then solder a 28 pin socket over
the existing one (piggyback).
-
- 3. Some
units have a talkback module that needs to be
removed. It is a long module with 2 "F"
fittings. Simply disconnect the MOLEX
connectors and screws and remove.
-
- 4. On some
TRI-MODE units, cut W25. ON baseband units,
make sure that W25 is NOT cut.
-
- 4a. On some
models, i.e., DPBB7312/tmp, hook pulse wire
(data wire) to pin 19 of 64 pin micro, pin 6
of 11 pin connector to +5vdc (pin# 1 of
micro) and cut jumper 74.
-
- 5. Locate
the IC labeled 74HC138. On TRI-MODE units you
may have to lift the tuner slightly. Solder
the wire closest to pin 15 of the EPROM on
the Key Circuit Module to pin 15 of the
74HC138 (U2) On some units U2 is located
underneath Tuner Module.
-
- 6. Locate
LC3518 (U5) and cut pin 20 in a manner so
that you can solder to the IC side of the
pin. Solder the wire closest to pin 20 of the
EPROM on the Key Circuit Module to pin 20 of
LC3518 (U5).
-
- 7. Solder
wire closest to pin 25 of the EPROM on the
Key Circuit Module to pin 18 of LC3518
(U5).
-
- 8. Noting
direction of the notch on the Key Circuit
Module and U4, insert the Key Circuit Module
into the socket.
-
- 9. If the
Key Circuit Uses a ribbon cable, place it on
the microprocessor using double stick
tape.
-
- 10.
Reassemble the unit reverse order. Power-up
unit. It will take a few seconds for the unit
